hosting for 1 powersupply with lan port

Hi Swinogers, I'm currently thinking about deploying a Sheevaplug or similar with mosh (http://mosh.mit.edu) as a login jumphost since I am several hours in mobile mode every day and I need a space outside of my network to host a *jump host* please contact me offlist and offer me housing for something like that: http://www.plugcomputer.eu/ All I am taking up is some bandwith (expected bandwith in average probably 1mbit max, half of it for keepalives for outbound vpn tunnels, Power consumption apparently less than 10watts. Need v6 and v4 connection, 1 IP each, public, not firewalled, 1 Plug in the power strip Since this is a rather non-standard thing I'm looking for, but I need it in a datacenter outside my infrastructure, I thought it's best to ask here. Btw, for anyone experienced already or looking into mosh, looking forward for exchange here Good Evening! Silvan

Platform for open audio workshops

while we're on the get-together topic :) I've built a small platform for audio seminars and workshops: http://trrtrr.net The primary goal was to set up discussions on IP telephony technologies (hence the name), but I'm completely open and if someone has a good topic for discussion, I'll gladly pass the moderator credentials. Hello Thank you for clarification in fact we have around 500 mails waiting to be delivered to @tele2.ch Addresses. Maybe sunrise should either accept those mails and create proper DSNs or make a public statement that tele2.ch addresses are not longer supported... Pro / Contra Smarthosting

Heya Another one on about the same topic. Business Customer with own Mailserver. They ofter want to know, which of our mailservers they can use as smarthost. We usualy tell them, that they operate an own fully connected mailserver which does not need any smarthost to deliver email to the world. Some do not agree. The reasons the tell us are: - It Tech XY has told them that sending via a smarthost is much more reliable. - Their previous ISP asked them to use it's smarthost. - Our Server has better 'reputation' than theirs and thus emails are less likely to be considered spam by some spamfilters. - Some seem to see DNS issues which I never could understand (they have correct PTR and MX settings for their mailservers). The problems I see with smarthosting are: - If an email to a recipient does not make it there, we get the blame even on trivias like 'user unknown'. - We have to punch holes in the anti-spam thorttling measures to allow them to send more emails / time than the usual private customer does. - They can generate huge load peaks if they operate newsletters and similar. - They often do relay bounce emails for strange reasons, or cause mail loops which we do not want to be routed via our infrastructure. - The risk that our infrastructure get's blacklisted because of trojan activities on a customers infrastructure increases. So how do other ISP handle such requests? Do customer with an own fully connected mailserver have any reason to use their ISP's email infrastructure as smarthost?
