Filtering of NTP-access to swisstime.ethz.ch as of July 1st, 2013

*** German version below *** Dear NTP-Users of swisstime.ethz.ch After we changed the NTP use of swisstime.ethz.ch to ClosedAccess at the end of 2012 we tried contacting the main users of this service (via whois) for a six month period - unfortunately with minimal success. As of July 1st 2013 the time has come. SWITCH will block NTP-access at the border to Swiss NRENs so that commercial users and universities/ technical colleges (outside Swiss NRENs) will no longer be able to access swisstime.ethz.ch as a time server. This is for your information as well as for others who may be affected by this change. Transparent 1Gig Ethernet over IP/Ethernet?

Hi all, I need to transparently (especially LACP frames) transport a gigabit ethernet link with at least 1500 MTU over either IP or Ethernet. Jumbo frames are enabled on the L2 transport backbone. While I need "full" (some encap overhead will be acceptable) GigE wire speed, encryption is unnecessary. Can anyone suggest a product -ideally some low-maintenance, high-reliability, perhaps ASIC-based hardware- that can do this?

dns oddity with cns7.bluewin.ch

Hello list Does anybody know why cns7.bluewin.ch does answer one out of four specific queries with an mixed case DNS answer? ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;_autodiscover._tcp.id.ethz.ch. The Outlook mail client is treating the DNS answers case sensitive so mail.ethz.ch and mail.EThZ.CH are not the same. sflow proxy/multiplexer

Hi there, Maybe some of you folks can give me a hint on this... I do have a linux box which is receiving sflow data from routers/switches/etc. I want this box to forward the sflow data to two or three other hosts. So I am looking for a "decent" sflow proxy/multiplexer. Any suggestions are welcome - preferably opensource :) Thanks in advance. Cheers, Julian
